Scottish Springer Spaniel Rescue Information Related Articles: Dog Training ________________________________________________________________________
Springer Rescue Scotland was originally set up under the working title English Springer Spaniel Rescue Scotland to fill a need recognised by many people. At that time Working or Show English Springer Spaniels whose owners in Scotland had to give them up, were either taken into general rescues or transported many hundreds of miles to be re-homed by breed specific rescues or welfare groups.
People who owned or simply cared about the welfare, rehoming and care of Springers (affectionately known as Springies) and Springer x breeds such as Sprockers (cocker cross) or Sprollie (collie x) thought that it was best to address the rehoming issue here in Scotland by volunteers living on Scottish soil whether Scots or any other nationality. As well as the English and working type of Springer Spaniel and common Springer cross breeds there is also the Welsh Springer Spaniel or WSS. All of these breeds if unfortunately they find themselves in a rescue situation, will be carefully assessed and rehomed by this caring and ethical group who have a network of volunteers covering the entire country and links with responsible and ethical welfare and rescue groups in England. The dogs they rehome are spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and assessed before being placed with the most suitable family for that particular dog.
Springer Rescue Scotland now have in place nearly all of the roles they wished to fill but if you are looking to surrender or adopt a Springer then you should contact them through their new website at:
